Hailing from Kelowna, B.C., 21 year-old Walt Mudie seeks to express the ambiguity present in everyday life through melody, rhythm, & texture. The Wedding sound is littered with contrasting stylistic choices. Washy electronic music, angular indie rock, and alternative hip hop all peek through the haze in Mudie's eclectic production, pointing to his experiences working in each respective musical style. His music is as much inspired by dreamy acts, like Broadcast and Alex G, as it is by acoustic music, such as Andy Shauf and Joni Mitchell.

 

Only since moving from British Columbia to Toronto in 2021 has Mudie begun performing live, in both Wedding and a number of other bands in the local scene. With a multitude of Wedding shows under his belt in both Toronto and Montreal, he will be returning to B.C. in the summer of 2024 to embark on his first tour. He calls upon friends to join his ever-evolving backing band lineup for the loose and passionate Wedding live performances.

Following a number of singles and EPs, Mudie's first full release under Wedding arrived in April 2024 with the album "Time Is Good". The varied 9-song tracklist features driving indie rock (Shackled II, As It Moves), mathy dream pop (Stones, All The Sacred Things, Time Is Good), and even a guitar-based electronic piece (Whitemud).
